Bluegrass, gospel, Celtic and just plain old-time music rings through Bicentennial Park in Waynesville at the annual Appalachian Mountain Music Festival. Bring your family, lawn chairs and instruments and join in during this non-profit festival. There are banjo-pickin' and fiddlin' contests, a grand roster of performers on two stages, a storytelling tent and children's area. Crafts and food available, plus dancing and workshops on everything from beginning dulcimer to the Carter Family's music.
