What to eat in Cincinnati USA

Cincinnati-Style Chili
Cinnamon in chili? Outrageous! Not so in Cincinnati USA. Try a cheese coney topped with special-recipe chili or a 4-way with spaghetti, chili, onions and piles of shredded cheese. It might seem strange at first, but it’s a taste worth trying!

Eat more: Cincinnati-style chili reigns supreme at local chili parlors Blue Ash Chili, Camp Washington Chili, Gold Star Chili and Skyline Chili. Try another chili parlor or read more about this regional favorite here.

Comfort Food
Having a bad day? Nothing provides comfort like a gooey, grilled cheese sandwich. Tom+Chee, with several area locations, serves up the childhood favorite with new twists (like the glazed donut grilled cheese pictured above) on a daily basis. Travel Channel’s Man V. Food Nation and Amazing Eats showcased some of the restaurant’s most popular sandwiches like the grilled cheese doughnut, voted by TODAY as one of the best sandwiches of 2012.

Eat more: Bite into the burger voted best in Ohio at Zip’s Café or try one at Terry’s Turf Club, featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Haute Hot DogsSenate
Senate restaurant was named one of the best 25 hot dog shops in the country by thanks to signature dogs with names like Trailer Park and Hello Kitty 2.0. The chef also won Food & Wine’s “People’s Best New Chef” contest for the Great Lakes region.

Eat more: Take in a ball game and a gourmet hot dog at Great American Ball Park and try the Skinny Legs dog with arugula, avocado, roasted corn and lime mayo at the Machine Room Grille. Looking for something more upscale? Try these top fine dining restaurants.

Worldly Wonders
You don’t have to travel around the world for international delicacies. Just visit Jungle Jim’s International Market for more than 150,000 items from 75 countries. The store also houses one of the country’s largest wine and beer selections and zany décor that will entertain the kids. Jungle Jim’s is so amazing it even had to open a second location this year! For more food shopping adventures read here.

Eat more: Stop by IKEA for some Swedish-inspired furniture and those famous meatballs.

Graeter's Black Raspberry ChipSweet Treats
There’s no better way to cool off than with an ice-cream cone. Family-owned Graeter’s, with its creamy French pot ice cream, was named one of the “Best Ice Cream Spots in the U.S.” by Food & Wine, and even Oprah raved about the butter pecan in O, The Oprah Magazine. You should also try the tangy, tart flavor of Yagoot frozen yogurt topped with anything from sprinkles and chocolate chips to nuts and fruit.

Eat more: Chill out at Aglamesis Brothers, Root Beer Stand or Streetpops. More cool treats.
